Refined Renos ยท Aurora & the GTA
A clear plan for your bathroom renovation.
Before you choose tile or book a start date, you probably want to know what the renovation will involve. How does the quote work? Which decisions come first? Who helps if something needs attention afterwards?
Our process starts with photos of your bathroom and a conversation about what you want to change. From there, we review the space, plan the work and guide you through construction and the final walkthrough.

How our bathroom renovation process works
Every bathroom has different needs. The steps below explain how we move from your initial ideas to a planned renovation, with room to address the condition of your home and the features you choose.
-
Send your photos and project details
Take a few clear photos of your current bathroom and tell us what is no longer working for you. That might be a cramped shower, limited storage, worn finishes or an awkward layout.
Include your city, approximate budget and preferred timing. If you have noticed leaks, poor drainage, damaged grout or ventilation concerns, show those areas too. You do not need every fixture or finish selected before getting in touch.
-
Review the quote and next step
Our team reviews the layout, visible condition and your renovation goals. In many cases, these details are enough to prepare a preliminary quote before an in-home visit.
A larger or more complicated renovation may need a visit to review the space and confirm measurements. Final pricing depends on the agreed work, material selections and site conditions. Our bathroom renovation pricing guide provides a useful starting point for your budget.
-
Plan the layout, materials and details with Slava
Slava, our founder and project manager, works with clients during preparation and planning. This is the time to discuss tile choices, fixture placement, storage and how you want the bathroom to feel in daily use.
We also review the less visible details, including drainage, ventilation and waterproofing. Shower benches, niches, lighting and accessibility features belong in this conversation before the work is scheduled. Read more about our bathroom planning and consultation.
-
Prepare the bathroom and complete the renovation
Once the plan is confirmed, the work follows the needs of your project. A full bathroom renovation can include demolition, plumbing and electrical work, ventilation, surface preparation, waterproofing, tile and fixture installation.
Preparation matters because new finishes depend on the condition of the surfaces underneath them. Hidden wall or floor damage may only become visible after removal begins. Our team keeps communication open as the renovation progresses and the remaining details come together.
-
Review the finished bathroom together
After the renovation, we walk through the finished work with you. This gives you an opportunity to review the bathroom, ask questions and raise anything you would like us to look at.
Take time to discuss the finishing details and any care questions about the materials you selected. It is also a useful point to confirm how to contact us if something needs attention after the bathroom is back in use.
-
Stay in touch for follow-up support
Support continues after the final walkthrough. Refined Renos provides first-year service calls and touch-ups when needed, which may include grout, silicone, paint or minor adjustments.
Our website lists a one- to two-year labour warranty. Confirm the coverage and terms that apply to your project when reviewing your proposal. If a concern comes up, contact the team and describe what you have noticed.
Before you request your quote
A few useful details make the first conversation easier.
You do not need drawings or a finished design to reach out. Clear photos and a short description help us see the space and understand your priorities.
The quote form accepts up to 10 JPG or PNG photos, with a maximum file size of 2 MB each.
- Wide views of the bathroom, plus the shower or tub, vanity and toilet.
- The floor, ceiling and exhaust fan, along with any visible damage.
- What you want to keep, replace or move.
- Your city, budget range and preferred start date.
- Inspiration photos and any accessibility or condo-related needs.
Setting expectations
What can affect the renovation timeline?
Your schedule depends on the work involved and the condition of the bathroom. A straightforward replacement has different planning needs from a layout change or a custom ensuite.
- Changes to the layout: moving fixtures or reworking the shower adds to the work being planned.
- Existing conditions: moisture damage or previous work may need attention before new finishes are installed.
- Materials and custom features: availability, tile details and shower glass can affect the sequence of work.
- Access to the home: condo rules, working hours and household needs should be discussed during planning.
We review the timeline as part of the project plan, so you can prepare around the renovation.

Questions before you begin
Bathroom renovation process FAQs
Do I need an in-home visit before receiving a quote?
Not always. Photos and project details are often enough for a preliminary quote. More complicated renovations may need an in-home visit to review the space, confirm measurements and finalize the scope before final pricing is confirmed.
Do I need to choose all my materials before contacting you?
No. Start with your photos, renovation goals, budget and preferred timing. Tile, fixtures, shower features and other selections can be discussed during planning. Slava works with clients through this stage to help review practical choices for the space.
Who will help me plan the bathroom?
Slava, Refined Renos’ founder and project manager, consults with clients during preparation and planning. He reviews project goals, the scope of work, tile, layout and installation details before the renovation begins.
What if there is hidden damage behind the walls or floor?
Photos help identify visible concerns, but some wall, floor or subfloor issues only become apparent after demolition. These conditions can affect the work required and the schedule. Ask about how additional work and any changes to pricing will be handled when reviewing your project proposal.
Is there support after the bathroom is finished?
Yes. Refined Renos provides first-year service calls and touch-ups when needed, including minor grout, silicone, paint or adjustment concerns. Labour warranty coverage is listed as one to two years; confirm the terms that apply to your project in the proposal.
